Ron Tuninga
Prof. Dr. Ronald S.J. Tuninga is Rector of Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences and an internationally recognized leader in higher education. Over the course of a distinguished academic and executive career, he has built a strong reputation for advancing innovation, internationalization, quality assurance, and entrepreneurial leadership in business and management education. His professional experience spans the public and private sectors and includes senior leadership roles in several European countries, as well as extensive engagement with institutions and organizations worldwide.
Before joining Wittenborg, Professor Tuninga served as Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at AACSB International, one of the world’s leading accreditation bodies for business schools. Professor Tuninga has been actively involved with AACSB, AMBA, EFMD, NVAO, and related quality assurance organizations for many years. He has served as an AACSB mentor and peer reviewer, chaired and participated in numerous AMBA accreditation visits worldwide, and contributed to joint AACSB-NVAO accreditations in the Netherlands. He previously held the positions of Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law at Kingston University London and Director and Dean at the Maastricht School of Management. He has served successfully as dean in three European countries: the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Denmark. Across these roles, he has contributed to the development, management, and strategic growth of undergraduate, graduate, MBA, DBA and PhD programmes delivered in 35 countries across five continents. In Ghana, he developed, together with Vice Chancellor Ben Q. Honyenuga, a PhD programme designed to strengthen faculty capacity across universities, with 40 doctoral students participating and many successfully defending their dissertations in the Netherlands.
Professor Tuninga’s leadership is marked by an international outlook and a strong commitment to academic quality, institutional development and global collaboration. He has in-depth knowledge of higher education systems in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and has been actively involved as a volunteer and advisor in international accreditation and quality assurance organizations. His work has supported business schools and universities in strengthening their academic portfolios, governance structures, international partnerships, and engagement with professional practice.
In addition to his executive responsibilities, Professor Tuninga has held board memberships and visiting professorships at a range of European and international business schools and universities. These include, among others, Audencia Business School in France; Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia; J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek in Croatia; the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Zagreb in Croatia; GISMA University of Applied Sciences in Germany; SDU in Denmark; and Copenhagen Business School in Denmark. Through these appointments, he has contributed to academic development, international cooperation, and knowledge exchange across diverse higher education contexts.
Professor Tuninga is also an active scholar, editor, and thought leader in international business, marketing, management education, entrepreneurship and global higher education. He has published in more than 70 peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings and has contributed to books, edited volumes, and international research projects. His work has appeared in journals and conference proceedings, including the Journal of Macromarketing, Managerial and Decision Economics, the Irish Marketing Review, the Scandinavian International Business Review, the South African Journal of Business Management, Bedrijfskunde, and the Journal of Transnational Management. He also supervised doctoral research and served in editorial roles. Currently, he serves as Senior Associate Editor of the Journal of Global Marketing and as a member of the editorial board of Case Focus.
His international project experience includes initiatives funded by the Dutch government, the World Bank, the European Union, the United Nations, and other international organizations. He is the founder of the Round Table on Business Practice Education and Research and has served as President of the International Management Development Association.
His academic qualifications include a PhD from Temple University in Philadelphia (USA), an MA in Economics, an MBA in International Business, and an MSc in Marketing.

Ad Kil
Prof. Dr. Ad Ki is currently Vice President Applied Research and Professor of Applied Reserach at Wittenborg University of Applies Sciences, Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. He is Emeritus Professor of Business Research Didactics, Was visiting Professor of Business Research at Kingston University Business School, Londen, UK. He is a former visiting professor of HRD in the Law Firm at Nottingham Law School, UK, former Director of the Master of Conflict Management, Maastricht University Law School. Ad was for years is a senior lecturer at the Dutch Bar Association (NOvA), where he co-developed the Advocacy Skills Programme.
Mainly working as methodologist his research interest/publications is in Family Business, Professional (Law) Service Firms, and Research Methodology Didactics. In that role he was Director of Executive PhD Programmes at Nyenrode Business University in the Netherlands and Chengdu (China) and leading methodlogist of Executive PhD Programmes at Open University, executed in Ghana.
